For many years both Jim and I were involved with outdoor youth programs.
Our kids have more or less outgrown the organizations in our area. Or,
at least we thought so, until SpiralScouts appeared. Pete Pathfinder and
the Aquarian Tabernacle Church (http://www.aquatabch.org/)
pioneered/founded this program for kids of all ages and belief systems.
The program itself is centered on earth based beliefs, which is a
welcome change from the forced Christianity in other available programs.

*SpiralScouts™ (http://www.spiralscouts.org) consists of 3 program levels:
FireFlies™ - ages 3 through 8 (usually through 3rd grade)
**this level is currently under study for possible division
SpiralScouts™ - ages 9 through 13 or 14 (usually 4th grade through 7th
grade)
PathFinders™ - ages 14 through 18 (8th grade and up)

Just as in other scouting programs, the kids earn badges and learn about
a multitude of different subjects. Some of the badges offered are:
Art
Drug Awareness
Ecology
Gardening
Hospitality
Interfaith
Peace
Recycling
Sports
Water Safety
