Nefer-per-Netjer

Nefer-Per-Netjer is ancient Egyptian for Beautiful House of the Gods. It was so named by the late Fran (Lady Isis) and established as a Pagan church in 2000. Lady Isis crossed the Veil on January 3, 2011. Her dream was to have a place where local Pagans could gather to worship together in a beautiful outdoor setting. Fran and her husband toiled for many years clearing trees, toting in rocks, crystals, and statuary to form the current Circle area. The Circle itself has East and West arbor entrance gates and each direction is marked by an altar representing the four elements. In the South, you will find Fran’s Memorial Wall which reflects the ritual fires from the large fire pit area. Life-sized statues of Demeter and Dionysus frame the North altar. The Circle is shaded mostly by large pines, maples, and oaks. You will find beautiful plants and flowers in the Circle and surrounding property such as hostas, ferns, lilies, lilacs, jasmine, holly, gardenia, hydrangeas, and roses.

Nefer-Per-Netjer became a state-recognized non-profit religious organization in May 2009. On March 28, 2011, Nefer-Per-Netjer became a 501(c)(3) federally recognized church. Nefer-Per-Netjer is located on private property in rural Lonoke, Arkansas.

Nefer-Per-Netjer is a small working-learning group. We are eclectic and welcome those who follow varied paths. We follow the Celtic-based Wheel of the Year for most Sabbats in addition to holding other gatherings whenever possible. Workshops and classes throughout the year are held for those interested in learning something new. We are a proud sponsor of Arkansas Pagan Pride and regularly donate to local food charities and animal shelters.

One of our larger gatherings is held in September to celebrate the Autumn Equinox. Nefer Folk, Family and Friends come from all around to spend a weekend at Nefer celebrating the fall harvest and the cooler weather to come. Camping, potluck feast, musical entertainment, workshops, and a candlelight ritual are the weekend’s highlights.

Plans for Nefer include converting current building space to house indoor gatherings during inclement weather, sleeping quarters for overnight guests, and a library/meditation area. Our mission is to promote spiritual growth through teaching, gatherings, retreats, and rites for those on a Pagan path, to promote understanding, love, and support to those in our community and to be charitable and giving to those in need, no matter their spiritual path.

Central Arkansas Pagans and Witches

This group was founded as a way to provide a gathering place for like-minded individuals in the Central Arkansas area to come together to explore themselves, expand their social life, and become more spiritually active. We support all spiritual traditions and paths and we welcome the wisdom and knowledge of all members.

The way the group works at the moment is this:

The group has regular social gatherings (that are hosted by the organizers) at Noon on every other Saturday. At these gatherings we socialize and discuss various topics over a meal. These gatherings are a way to get to know people in a safe, mutually respectful, and tolerant environment.

In addition, we have a calendar of events to coordinate group activities. Members are free to just attend but we also encourage fellow members to host their own events (i.e. rituals, classes on specific topics, campouts, etc.)

Welcome to the group, and we hope to see you soon!

black bear kindred

Black Bear Kindred of Central Arkansas is a Heathen tribe based around Little Rock and Conway. We meet monthly in either Conway or Little Rock for public meetups.

Our Kindred:

  • Believes that the worth of those who follow our path is based on their deeds and not their age, ethnicity, gender expression, or family status
  • Actively honors the Goddesses and Gods of pre-Christian Northern Europe who are commonly known as the Aesir and Vanir.
  • Builds ties to our local wights.
  • Honors and remembers our ancestors and their contributions to our family luck.
  • Cultivates frith and fellowship among our kin.
  • Shapes our own tradition. This tradition is based on a foundation of Heathenry but also influenced by our local cultural resources and geographical considerations.
  • Nurtures the emotional, spiritual, and physical growth of our folk.
  • Gives back to our local community as a group and as individuals.
